The Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market has grown from a modest weekend gathering into one of the largest and most popular markets in Southwest Florida. Held every Sunday morning at Waterside Place, it draws residents from across the community and visitors from throughout Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Here's what to expect.

What You'll Find

The market features over 100 local vendors on a typical Sunday. The selection includes organic produce, fresh-baked bread and pastries, specialty spices, local honey, cut flowers, prepared foods, artisan coffee, handmade jewelry, pet products, and craft goods. The emphasis is on local and small-batch — you're buying from the grower, the baker, or the maker, not a reseller.

When and Where

The market runs every Sunday morning at Waterside Place on the eastern side of Lakewood Ranch. Arrive early for the best selection — the most popular vendors sell out. Parking is free in the Waterside Place lots, though spots fill up quickly by mid-morning. Many residents walk or bike to the market via Lakewood Ranch's trail network.

Sunday Morning Yoga

Sunday mornings start with a free yoga session at 9 AM on the Waterside Park lawn, just steps from the market. It's become a popular tradition — do yoga, then walk through the market, then grab coffee or brunch at one of the Waterside Place restaurants. The combination is a distinctly Lakewood Ranch kind of morning.

The Kids' Zone

Families with children will find a dedicated Kids' Zone with activities and entertainment to keep younger visitors occupied while parents browse. The adjacent Waterside Park splash pad and playground provide additional options. It's one of the reasons the market works as a full family outing rather than just a grocery run.

Beyond the Sunday Market

Waterside Place also hosts Wednesday night food truck events from 6 to 9 PM during the cooler months (October through May), featuring food trucks, live music, and craft drinks. Outdoor movie nights happen on the second Friday of each month. Between the Sunday market, midweek events, and regular restaurant hours, Waterside Place stays active throughout the week.
