Bella Lago and Heritage Harbour are both located in eastern Manatee County, but they offer distinctly different living experiences. Here is how the two communities compare.

Location

Bella Lago is in Parrish, Florida (34219), while Heritage Harbour is in Bradenton (34212). Heritage Harbour sits closer to I-75 and the Bradenton commercial corridor, while Bella Lago is further north in the growing Parrish area.

Community Size and Age

Heritage Harbour is a larger, more mature community with approximately 947 homes built between 2003 and 2014. It includes multiple sub-neighborhoods, such as River Strand. Bella Lago has approximately 890 homes built by D.R. Horton between 2020 and 2024 — significantly newer construction.

Gating and Security

Heritage Harbour is a gated community with 24/7 security personnel. Bella Lago is not gated. For buyers prioritizing controlled access, this is a key difference.

Amenities

Heritage Harbour offers an extensive amenity package through its River Strand sub-community, including a 27-hole golf course, multiple pools, Har-Tru tennis courts, pickleball courts, a basketball court, two fitness centers, a clubhouse with dining, and billiards and card rooms. Bella Lago offers a resort-style pool, clubhouse, fitness center, dog park, playground, sports field, and picnic areas — strong for a newer community, but without golf or the scale of Heritage Harbour's facilities.

Home Types and Pricing

Heritage Harbour includes single-family homes, condominiums, and townhomes. Bella Lago is entirely single-family homes. Bella Lago homes range from approximately $300,000 to $600,000 with newer construction. Heritage Harbour pricing varies widely depending on the sub-neighborhood and home type.

Construction

Bella Lago's D.R. Horton homes feature cement block construction on both stories, a notable advantage for storm durability. Heritage Harbour homes, being older, vary in construction methods by builder and sub-community.

Bottom Line

Choose Heritage Harbour if you want a gated community with golf, resort-level amenities, and established landscaping. Choose Bella Lago if you prefer newer construction, lower entry pricing, and a community that is still growing and forming its culture.
